located in a remote mountainous area between yucca valley and pioneertown this house was imagined a retreat where one can be fully immersed in the high desert. the goal is to integrate into the landscape to emphasize the contrast of protected private rooms opening to protected courtyards versus massive open spaces that push into the landscape. The structure is embedded into a ridge to connecting two prominences and oriented to protect outdoor areas from wind and maximize views to snow capped mountains to the west. the structure will be constructed using a panelized composite concrete structural system.
